Technically Intuitive
The CIK Signature 3D Cutting Workshop
SIMPLIFIED CUTTING FOR ALL HAIR
How many times have you attended a class or workshop and learned a step by step haircut only to return to your salon and struggle to integrate that specific cut into your client experiences?
Sharp angle vs. round. Blunt perimeter vs. softened perimeter. They are all just options for a clients finished look.
Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately without the need for conscious reasoning. It is a deep feeling of knowing and a sense of certainty.
Intuitive haircutting isn’t always accurate when it’s not accompanied by a deep foundation of fundamental technical cutting and practical application to diverse hair types.
IT’S TIME TO STOP LEARNING STEP BY STEP HAIRCUTS AND LEARN THE HOW/WHEN/WHY BEHIND CUTTING HAIR FOR ALL HAIR

What Will We Be Doing?
Day One: Theory
We begin Technically Intuitive by going back to the beginning to explore The Essential Elements of Hair. Understanding the Essential Elements frees us to see each client as an individual and allows us to strategize and formulate cut, color, and care based on real, tangible facts.
We move into the tools (products & processes) to achieve our clients desired results for curl definition, style longevity, and climate protection. Then we introduce and expound upon The Cut It Kinky Decision Matrix as we explore foundational 2D & 3D mid-length shaping concepts both in theory & in practice with our mannequins.
Day Two: Process
On day 2 we come together to download the mind meld that was day one. We hone in on our Curly Native Perception as we learn to see the hair in front of us curls first. Not in relation to its straightened state or to others straight/straightened hair.
We then move into crafting tapered & short shapes for 3D hair where we embrace the triangle. We explore how dimensions and proportions must change when the hair naturally grows and/or expands upward in line, shape, space, and form
